用來分離和鑑別抗Colistin革蘭氏陰性病原菌
微生物典型生長外觀：
COL-R 大腸桿菌→深粉到紅色菌落
COL-R 大腸桿菌群→金屬藍色菌落
COL-R 假單胞菌→半透明，有或無奶油色到綠色色素
COL-R 不動桿菌→奶油色菌落
其他COL-R革蘭氏陰性菌→無色菌落，天然色素
其他Colistin感受性革蘭氏陰性菌→生長抑制
其他革蘭氏陽性菌→生長抑制

► 培養基使用特點
科馬嘉CHROMagarTM Colistin- resistance (COL-APSE) 培養基基為抗Colistin細菌所生長，高敏感與專一的培養基。適用於從病人檢體做抗Colistin細菌的初步篩檢，也可應用於獸醫與環境中樣品針對質體媒介的MCR-1與polymyxin有抗藥性的細菌篩檢。
 
► 培養基描述
  Gain flexibility using powder rather than ready to use plates: Use the entire pack, or if there is a need for a smaller number of plates, just a portion. If kept under appropriate storage temperature, CHROMagarTM COL-APSE has a 2 years shelf of life. This flexibility is essential to avoid the waste resulting from expired-unused plates.

► 專門培養於抗Colistin菌株
Polymyxin E（colistin）和B常使用於治療抗多藥耐藥細菌感染。多粘菌素抗藥性雖然在革蘭氏陽性菌和某些革蘭氏陰性菌（變形桿菌，摩根氏菌，沙雷氏菌）是常見的，但現在有許多其他病原體（鮑曼不動桿菌，銅綠假單胞菌，大腸桿菌，沙門氏菌，肺炎克雷伯菌）中也有存在問題。
抗藥性上升歸因於與LPS生物合成有關的基因（lpx，pmrA / B，mgrB，phoP / Q）中的突變/插入和/或磷酸乙醇胺轉移酶（PEtN）的獲得，而產生了抗藥性問題。
 令人關注的是質粒內編碼產生的PEtN MCR-1，目前在廣泛出現動物，人類和環境細菌分離株中被發現。
