秕糠馬拉色菌→大、淡粉色且有皺褶菌落
其他馬拉色菌屬包含M. globosa 和 M. restricta →大部分粉色到紫色

  使用方式簡單且顏色容易判讀
  馬拉色菌屬的菌皆具有相似的型態與生化特性，用傳統的培養基難以將之做區別，科瑪嘉 CHROMagar Malassezia培養基不僅可以偵測到馬拉色菌屬外還能用來鑑別其中幾種常見的菌種。
